Vintage NYC Magazine is excited to introduce you to celebrity hairstylist, Carlos Vera, who will be connecting with us through his celebrity clientele. Carlo's passion for hairstyling began at the age of 16 when he would treat his mother's beauty school dolls to lavishly creative and unique makeovers. Years later, his life would take a pivotal turn when he attained a position at Oribe Salon, the top salon in NYC. He assisted under one of the elite colorists and close friend, Brad Johns. Carlos honed necessary skills like giving blonds reason to have more fun, and cutting dry hair. This experience would serve him well and garner him much notice and praise along his career. He would later work for the renowned salon John Sahag. There he perfected the art of coloring hair. While working at other high-end salons on Fifth and Madison Avenues, he broadened his scope to include knowledge and expertise in the application of makeup. In the 90's, he had the pleasure of working on Madonna, one of the highlights of his life. The list of celebrities, socialites and designers he has worked with include Shakira, Britney and Thalia. His reputation has led to ongoing demand for his services by magazines and photographers in the industry. Carlos currently promotes and works with the Pantene brand. Vera splits his time between his homebase of NYC, Miami and Los Angeles. We feel very fortunate to have such a talented and creative stylist as Carlos connecting with us at Vintage NYC Magazine. We look forward to his creativity as we watch, learn and experience the beauty of his renowned expertise.
